In my opinion, it’s very important to decide “while still on the shore” where you’re headed. You don’t achieve meaningful results without first setting a goal. And if you do get some results without a goal, they’ll likely be mediocre and vague—which is exactly what we want to avoid.
That’s why we need to clearly understand where we want to be in a year or two. And once that direction is set, move forward with purpose.
